Edward Wendt

Driver

Meet Edward Wendt, a race boat driver and adrenaline seeker. Born in St. Croix, Virgin Islands, Ed's love for speed started at a young age. His parents had him out on boats as an infant, and driving them by the time he was five years old. Ed has always been passionate about driving and building unique things, which is why he currently drives an F350 with a Cummins diesel engine.

Ed's journey is one of adventure and bravery. He is a veteran who served in the Coast Guard and traveled the world doing drug interdiction. He is a commercial diver, dive master, and spear fisherman. He dives deeper than most would ever dream, and frequently encounters sharks looking to steal the fish right from the stringer on his hip while spearfishing. He doesn’t even flinch.

Ed is just in a completely different state of mind than most people in terms of fear. He seeks adrenaline in everything he does and is always pushing his limits. He is incredibly confident, and competitive. He’s new to the professional boat racing game, but even so, when he was asked if he thought he was a contender to win, his response was, “Why else would I do it if I didn’t think I could win?”

Ed's love for engines and making them go faster than they should has not come without its consequences. The scar on his face is from a truck that he built to go way too fast at the young age of sixteen. He ended up in an accident where he fractured his pelvis and ripped his entire jaw off.

Despite the risks he takes, Ed is a loving husband and father who puts all the controllable components of safety first. "I’m gonna make sure this boat is safe and runs well. But at the end of the day, it’s not second place brands, it’s Race-Winning Brands," he says.

Ed's competitive drive and fearlessness make him a force to be reckoned with in the race boat industry. He is determined to win every race he enters and is always striving to be the best.

So, the next time you see Ed out on the water, know that he's not just a race boat driver, he's a man who is always pushing himself to the limit and living life to the fullest.
